I'm Shaun, a software developer with a background in business administration.

I build tools for finance and operations: ledgers, reconciliations, reporting, and the workflows around them. I’ve spent more than a decade in property management, bookkeeping, IT, and operations, so I build for the people who actually use the software.

Projects

A full-stack finance app, a live client website, and team projects in data and machine learning. Everything here is hand-coded except the Private Mortgage Manager, which I built with Claude.

  • Month-end Excel reports, role-based access, an audit log, and 78 automated tests in CI

Core Continuum

The website for Core Continuum, a graduate-level Core Energetics training program, live and in use by the client.

  • Video hero that pauses for visitors who prefer reduced motion
  • Curriculum, faculty and program details laid out for quick scanning
  • A direct path to registration; plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no build step

Approach

How I think about building software with LLMs.

On building with LLMs

LLMs have changed what writing software means. Producing code is no longer the hard part. The hard part is deciding what to build, how it should be structured, and whether the result is any good.

I think that’s where a developer’s focus belongs now: architecture, planning and design, and learning to work with LLMs in a way that produces high-quality code rather than unmanageable slop.

  1. 01

    Architect first

Decide the structure, the data model and the boundaries before any code is generated.

  2. 02

    Plan and specify

A clear plan and a precise specification are what make LLM output predictable and reviewable.

  3. 03

    Own the output

Generated code still needs an owner. Tests, review and a coherent design are what keep it maintainable.
